Connect Gemini — the engine RankBull runs on

Gemini is the one key RankBull requires: article generation, SEO analysis, and the AI features all run on it. Google AI Studio issues keys free, the free tier is generous, and connecting takes about two minutes. You pay Google directly at cost — RankBull adds no markup, ever.

What you'll need

  • A Google account

The steps

about 2 minutes of your time
  1. Open Google AI Studio

Go to aistudio.google.com/apikey and sign in with your Google account.

    aistudio.google.com/apikey

  2. Create an API key

Click Create API key. If it asks for a Google Cloud project, let it create one for you — the defaults are fine. Copy the key.

  3. Paste it into RankBull

During onboarding, the Gemini screen is the one step that won't skip — paste the key there. Already past onboarding? It lives in Settings → AI Keys. RankBull picks the right Gemini model per task automatically; there's nothing to configure.

Questions & troubleshooting

Why is Gemini required when everything else is optional?

Because RankBull is an AI-powered platform — without an AI engine, articles can't generate and analysis can't run. Everything else (keyword data, images, email, analytics) degrades gracefully; the engine itself can't.

How much will Gemini usage cost me?

Google's free tier covers substantial usage, and past it you pay Google's list prices directly — your key, your bill, no middleman. RankBull also routes lighter tasks to cheaper Gemini models automatically to keep your costs down.

Can I add OpenAI too?

Yes, as an optional fallback: if a Gemini call fails, RankBull can retry on your OpenAI key so generation keeps flowing. It's on the optional keys page.
